Hello, Welcome to the Rising Stars Academy in Parkshore Country Day Camp!

Every weekday from 9AM to 4PM starting on 6/27 and ending on 8/19, your child will be able to socialize, play, grown and have fun with our wonderful academy programs! 

Everyday, your child will follow this schedule:

Period 1 –  9:30 – 10:10

            2 –  10:10 – 10:50

            3 – 10:50 – 11:30

            4 – 11:30 – 12:10

            5 – 12:10 – 12:50

            6 – 12:50 – 1:30

            7 – 1:30 – 2:10

            8 – 2:10 – 2:50

            9 – 2:50 – 3:30 

In the morning, all the kids will get one period of instructional swimming. There is also one period reserved for lunch,  but all the other periods will be jam packed with fun camp activities. Kids from 1st grade to 2nd grade will have their chosen academy class in 6th and 7th period, and Kids from 3rd grade to 5th grade will have theirs in 8th and 9th period.

The Academy Classes

Here at Rising Stars, we offer several different academy classes during the 4 sessions. In each session, your kids will be allowed to select one program.

Video Game Design

Students can learn the fundamentals of video game design to jumpstart a career in video game design! Using the powerful tool Game Maker Studio, your child will create their own video game. Perfect for gamers that are interested in how to turn their hobby and passion for video games into a productive, creative outlet.

Week one:

• Introduction and basics:

  • Work Day to create Sprites/progress

Tennis

“Our tennis program gives a step by step guide from beginning to advance level players at our camp. We will develop the players as needed, we will focus on each student’s development of their tennis strokes, technique, and footwork drills to improve. Instructions, warm up exercises, ball and racquet / hand and eye drills, forehand and backhand, ground strokes, basic technique, drills for game, and footwork are all covered in our curriculum.”

Self Defense

Invest in your kids safety and physical health with our self defense course. Instructors teach and supervise an engaging martial arts course suitable for all ages. Our experienced martial artists will give demos and help kids develop discipline and physical strength in this course.

Fine Art Intensive

The perfect course for aspiring young artists of any age! With a flexible class curriculum, our instructors will help your child sharpen their technical skills and heighten their creativity. Nothing is unachievable.

Reading and Writing Workshop

Encourage your child’s love of literature with this program! Your child will learn to critically analyze and respond to age appropriate literature and media in this course. This program aims to nurture your child’s eloquence in writing and expand their verbiage.

Minecraft Creators Club

Gamers unite! Sandbox enthusiasts will come together in this course to compete in team based games, building challenges, and explore the minecraft world! Perfect for your kid that’s passionate about Minecraft!

Chess

Is your child interested in games of outsmarting their opponents? Are they keenly interested in intense problem solving? Chess will be the program for them! Your child can hone their chess skills with our instructors in this 2 week course!

Arts and Crafts

Perfect for young creatives who want a chance to craft and make goods to bring home! Instructors supervise knitting, crocheting, lanyard making, prop making, and sculpting, and other crafts.
